All about David

The early explorers
Giovanni da Verrazzano discovered the Bay of New York. He was born in 1485, he was from Tuscany in Italy. He was the first European to discover New York Bay. He called it New Agouleme because he worked for the king of France. He died in 1528 in the Caribbean eaten by cannibals. In New York the Verrazzano Bridge was named after him, and there is a statue of him in Battery Park.
Henry Hudson was* a British explorer. He sailed up the Hudson River in 1609, so they named it after him / they gave* his name to the river. He died in 1611 during a mutiny. The sailors put* him and his son in a small boat so he died of cold or hunger. This happened in the north Atlantic in the Hudson Bay in Canada.

Telephone numbers
Julie, Rob, Sharon and James are at the Drama Club and they improvise.
Julie and Rob imagine they are VIPs so they are elegant. They exchange their telephone numbers. They are good actors.
Sharon and James pretend they are very old. Sharon pretends she is deaf so she thinks James's question is "What time is it?"
Everybody laughs because it's funny.

He's from Glasgow so he's Scottish.
His parents are divorced and his father lives in Glasgow.
His father is 40, he's a cook in a hotel.
His mother is 36.

Aliette speaks French because her grandmother is from Paris.
Rob understands Hindi because his grandmother lives in India, but he doesn't speak it.
