Saint Andrew's Day

St Andrew is the patron saint, the protector, of Scotland. It is said that after his death, some of his remains were brought to Scotland, to the town of St Andrew.

On St Andrew's Day, people celebrate being Scottish! People eat traditional Scottish food such as haggis and mashed potatoes and turnips, they listen to traditional music and dance! There are also parades in the streets. Since 2006, the 30th November is a bank holiday in Scotland.
